Thank you to everybody that followed the blog for the short time it was around, but it's time to move on up in the interwebs. As of today, all news and everything will be headed straight to www.homegrownboardshop.com. The main updates section of the site is live right now, and everything else will follow shortly. I'll be posting clips from the squad as soon as they're all together, and the webstore will be live and ready within a week or two. We will still be taking phone orders at 607.273.0430, and our collection of adidas, vans, and cons will be online shortly. Thanks for the continued support!

Nike SB "Lost" Quickstrikes

Inspired by the tv series "Lost", Nike SB brings you a dunk high and a blazer. The dunk is inspired by the fictional oceanic airlines, features nice little detailing on the insoles to compliment the all suede upper. The Blazer is inspired by the uniforms people wear on the show and has the label "shoe" on both heels, as well as on the insole. This one's all canvas. Instead of a normal deal of the week, it'll be a deal of the weekend this go round. So, Friday through Sunday all full priced shoes will be buy one get one 50% off. I've run this sale before and good stuff always go's fast. This includes all Nike SB's, all Adidas, all Cons, and all Vans. The more expensive pair will remain full price, and the less expensive one will be 50% off. The sale excludes all of the sale shoes which will remain as they are. It might be cold as shit outside, but that doesn't stop things in here. Vans coming strong for their first release of the new year with AVE's new shoe the AV6. Blend an Old Skool and an Era, put a nice cushy footbed in there, use premium suede and canvas for the upper, slap a $55 price tag on there, and you've got a winner. They're available now in two classic colors, black/white, and white/black. I also received a black on black chukka low, perfect for some winter punishment! New shoes for the spring 10 season. From Adidas, a slimmed down Superstar, a new simple vulc shoe simply called the "Skate", a new Silas campus vulc, new campus mid, and a new Busenitz pro. December Nike SB available!

The December assortment is a solid one if I do say so. First up, we have the Skate Mental Dunk High Premium which is done up in full pig suede with a nylon swoosh. Very nice indeed. Next up is a new style, the classic high. All suede, super clean and good for winter. My personal favorite out of the bunch, and one of the more popular styles at the moment is an all black wool Janoski. For those who've been following these, jump on em as they never seem to last more then a few days. Round out the bunch with a solid Dunk Low, and a clean swooshless Bruin. All shoes will be available this Saturday @ 11AM when the shop opens. Phone orders welcome!

Have teamed up for the month of December to bring a fresh little apparel collection as well as a clean Dunk High to the table. Today we received all the clothing which consists of three different t-shirts, and a 3 in 1 jacket that's riddled with features. It's a cotton shell with a removable bomber jacket that zips right into in. When you take the bomber out, the Skate Mental touch can be seen in the form of a six pack holder. Yup. Stay tuned for the December shoes by the weeks end!

Vans Vault and Classics

I'm very pleased to be able to offer this collection to you guys as only a very small handful of shops were selected to receive it. This pack is from the Vans Vault line which is usually only available to top tier boutique shops, and not to skate shops. The four shoes were selected to commemorate Ray Barbee's 20 years of professional skateboarding, and each is a reissue of one of his personal favorite shoes. The '87 Era is the first model up, followed by two colors of the '92 Old Skool, and a '95 Chukka rounds out the pack. All of the shoes feature period correct materials, patterns, and packaging. From the Classics line, two smooth colors of the Era 59, and a clean Half Cab are also available. Enjoy the weekend!

Nike SB for November

I'd say that this is the best collection from Nike that I've seen in some time now. Start off with the Todd Jordan designed Dunk High "bloody gums" which is done up in all suede and features a crazy print on the sole which resembles blood, toothpaste, and dental floss. The Dunk mid for the month gets the winter treatment with a dark chocolate colored nubuck upper, and boot laces to tie it all together. Next up are the Blazer and the bruin which are both executed super well with suede all over and just a little bit of contrast, nothing crazy. Easily my favorite shoe in the batch is the Janoski which is the first one to see a leather upper. The material is micro-perforated, and basically the shoe is awesome. Round everything out with a clean Harbor which is the last color of the shoe, and a decent P Rod 3. Phew.

Broad assortment this month. Start off with the oft requested Blazer premium, done up in a bright aqua blue nubuck upper. Straight into the dunk mid which is a suede leather combo, and the blue is darker in person, it's really royal blue. Round it out with a crazy dunk low premium, and a clean PRod 3. Oh, and a Tre A.D. and a restock of the black blazer, as well as the black Janoski! All available now.

Solid little drop for the month. One new color of the super soft flannel arrived along with a really really sick packable windbreaker. Throw in a gaggle of new tees that match up with the October shoes which will be available this tuesday and you've got yourself a good month. Ahh, not pictured out of sheer laziness is a hat to match the flannels, and some "raygun" dunk socks. We also received a small restock on Spit classics, Indy's, Krooked decks, and the reds.. Keep it tuned next week for some serious goodies.

Brought these back for another round since the last ones were so well received. This time they got done up with a discharge print, which after one wash leaves the ink with no texture. Big print that wont get all sweaty.. Good stuff.

My favorite brand right now by miles and miles. Elwood always brings clean, quality pieces that are consistently affordable. Highlights of the delivery are the "Big Mean" M-65 coats, and... well basically everything else. Several zip up styles, 3 washes of the easy pinwale cords (so soft), a few washes of the equally soft hemp blended denim, button ups, etc... Sorry for the picture quality, we're experiencing technical difficulties.

Slap Campus Mids!

Only a little late to the show.. Slap Magazine and Adidas got together and produced this very lovely mid top piece of footwear. Mostly suede with some corduroy on the heel, all accented by an eye pleasing shade of blue. Basically you'll want to buy these if your a real person. Seriously.

Nike SB for the month

Solid looking month for the swoosh here. Start it off with the shop favorite Janoski in a nice maroon suede, these things fly so if you've been waiting for some new ones here they are. Next up is a nice Harbor done up in a nice canvas with leather on the toe and swoosh. A little less simple is the "Rat Fink" Dunk Low Premium based on renowned custom car builder Ed Roth's cartoon character of the same name. Check out http://www.bigdaddyroth.com/ for some background info on all things that have to do with the rat fink. Next up is a simple red and black Dunk High which sports a suede and leather upper, metallic swoosh, nylon tongue, and a clear red sole. This brings us to the Blazer of the month which is done in a charcoal grey suede with the swoosh stitched into the shoe for a nice change of pace. Anyone looking for an alternative to searching for some "made in's", here you go. Rounding out the batch is a new veloce which is a navy suede with some silvery patent leather details on the swoosh and heel. Phew.

Just got back from a quick trip down to the city and found a nice stack of boxes waiting for me. In box number one we have the apparel assortment from Nike for the month of September. Start it off classy with the SB club cardigan, nice heavyweight construction on a classic style. Next up is two colors in they're ever popular flannels, the fit has been refined a bit, and nice little details sprinkled throughout. Round it out with a tee shirt and beanie sporting the "hell knows we ride" tag. Keep your eyes peeled, the September footwear should be posted a little later in the afternoon...

I have been slacking on basically all the shop stuff as of late, but this should redeem me at least a little bit. Friend of the shop Jesse Hill came through with the graphics for the first new shop tee in a while which sports a "get some" tag on the back which is a new venture of his that should be taking off shortly. Jump on these while they're here, sure to be another classic.
From Converse today we received the all red suede CTS Ox. Simple and solid which by this point should be what to expect out of the Cons camp. That's it for the day, sale is full on at this point, gonna try and skate if the weather holds out.

Anyone who's followed the SB brand for any amount of time will instantly recognize these colorways as belonging to the Lucky and unlucky dunks. Flipped on some rugby jerseys, the pieces feature some nice embroideries on the chest as well as large applique numbers for the respective colors.

Some nice highs for ya. Mostly suede upper with a little bit of nubuck on the quarter and the vamp. 3m piping accents along the to and heel finish it off. Vans city pack

This is the city collection from vans which takes inspiration from some of the cities responsible for shaping street skating. This first installment of the collection consists of an Old Skool done up for San Fransisco, another Old Skool for Chicago, and a Half Cab a piece for Los Angeles and New York round it out. The shoes feature all suede uppers with custom graphics on the footbeds as well as the tongues reflecting their respective cities. As an added bonus, all the shoes come in special city series boxes, all wrapped up in fancy paper.

August Nike SB assortment

Available at the shop today are the August arrivals from Nike SB. First up is the Dunk Mid which comes in a nice subtle colorway and is a mix of suede, leather, and some canvas on the toe box and swoosh, really solid shoe. For the Dunk low, it's looking like Nike took to everyones favorite anchorman for inspiration and came out with these. Suede with a patent leather swoosh, leather toe box, and some nice tie material on the tongue and heel set these apart. Next up is the Zoom Bruin, a newer style in the line retooled for skateboarding. Solid blue suede, clean and simple. Same story for the classic, all suede, clean and skateable. Finally the debut colors for the Paul Rodriguez 3 will be available this Saturday (the 8th) @ 11:00 AM when the shop opens. First two pairs sold will get a limited edition "today was a good day" tee shirt thrown in for free. Enjoy!

"Diagonal"

The folks over at Adidas were kind enough to send over a stack of their new full length video "Diagonal". It's solid and features full parts from the likes of Dennis Busenitz and Lem Villemin amongst many others. I'll be giving em away with any adidas purchase until the stack's gone.

Nike SB Apparel

The fall collection from Nike SB started arriving at the shop yesterday. The collection is composed of several tee shirt designs, including some pocket tees, and some icon tees to match the upcoming release of the P.Rod 3's. Other pieces include two colors of the Icon full zip hood, and one color of the pullover fleece. All the sweatshirts are organic cotton and feature some nice little hidden pockets. Some fitted hats and dunk socks round out the delivery.
